Miniature Roses

Miniature roses are simply roses, threated to keep its small size. Most miniature roses have smaller flowers than standard rose bushes, and they come in a wide spectrum of types and colors. However, their small size is not significant at the time of determinint its resistance Miniature roses are incredibly resistant. In fact, they resist wind better than most of other roses.

Within most known miniature roses we can mention a couple of them:

‘Child’s Play’ was selected as the best rose in 1993 by the All-American Rose Selection and American Rose Society. It blooms abundantly in white with soft pink edges and doesn’t need as much care as other rose bushes.

‘Baby Boomer’ also won an Award of Excellence. These delicate pink blossoms grow on long stems, suitable for cutting. They have a slight fragrance and bloom throughout the season.

Other well known miniature roses are:

• Climbers – Minis with a vertical growth habit and can be trained to grow against supports.
• Trailers – Minis with a cascading growth habit that are wonderful in baskets and over walls.
• Miniflora – An American Rose Society classification for newly developed mini roses that have a slightly larger plant and bloom size than miniature roses.
